Church affiliation

Rostered diaconal service is at the forefront of Christian ministry in a rapidly-evolving world. The Deaconess Community recognizes the exciting, vital opportunities to discern expansively about what it is to be called to Christ’s service.

We are a separately incorporated ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) with Sisters (members) also serving in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada.

We are on the Word and Service roster in the ELCA.

We are open to any self-identifying womxn, rostered in the ELCA or ELCIC, or in the candidacy process to be rostered.
