“Diaconal Ministry: History, Formation and Spirituality,” is a master’s level seminary course for credit/audit/continuing education credit. 

  • This course introduces students to diakonia and it’s historical, theological, and social contexts.
  • It asks how that history continues to impact the present, and future in the intersection of church and world.
  • It explores a theology of spirituality and authentic Christian community based on the Lutheran confessional writings.
  • Provides an opportunity for the discussion and development of baptismal identity and vocational discernment.
  • The Deaconess Community pays the tuition and cost of housing for any student who wishes to take the course.
