A native Chicagoan, Yvette was Educated at Harold Washington College, Robert Morris College, and did M.Div studies at the Lutheran School of Theology Chicago.
She has been an accountant for over 20 years. Prior to that, she worked in Advertising, Technology Infrastructure and the Office of the Treasurer, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Yvette’s work at the Deaconess Community
As the accountant, Yvette works with the staff, leadership, and committees to facilitate day to day operations and the Deaconess Community’s work in the world.
Always working for the church
In addition to her work with the Deaconess Community, Yvette is currently serving as Treasurer of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, ELCA, and formerly served on the synod’s African American Strategy Team, Synod Council.
She is a member of the Chicago and National African Descent Lutheran Association.
She has also a member of Bethany (South) Lutheran Church, Chicago, for 40+ years, serving as an assisting minister, council member, call committee member, council president, treasurer and worship chair.
In her spare time, Yvette enjoys travel, reading, and theatre.
