June 24 was a beautifully bright, sunny, warm Pacific Northwest day. The air was crisp and fresh, the birds chirped joyfully, and Mount Rainier came out of the clouds in all her glory to celebrate the consecration of Sr Karie Hamilton. It was a lovely Sunday morning worship service at Christ Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Washington.
Sr Karie’s sister, the Rev. Jamie Hamilton — an Episcopal Priest — offered the sermon, and Bishop Rick Jaech presided over the consecration.
Sr Noreen Stevens, Sr Liz Colver, Sr Karen Norton, Sr Le Brandes, and Sr Ann Shultz represented the Community at the celebration.
The Community presented Sr Karie with a basin and towel specially made for Sr Karie by a friend and local potter.
After the service, the church provided fresh strawberry shortcake for fellowship, and Sr Karie and her partner Chris opened their lakefront home for a lovely open house with lunch and beverages.
It was a beautiful day in every way possible.
Congratulations Sr Karie!
